Annwyl / Dear

June - WOW !! What an absolutely incredible month, I have words just how amazing it’s been - loved every moment.  There’s been elopement weddings (& pre-wedding shoots the night before!), bridal fashion shoots & to round the month off - outdoors adventure portraiture - all of which is EXACTLY what I want to do in life !

A stunning elopement wedding

This kind of story is exactly why I do what I do!

Jenn & Alex’s elopement was something really special, and completely their own! The day before their wedding, we met on Ynys Llanddwyn for a slow, golden-hour wander along the beach. No pressure, no posing - just the three of us walking, chatting, and capturing moments as they happened. You could feel how close they were, how excited they were for what was coming, and it all just fell into place naturally.

The next day, they got married at Château Rhianfa - one of my all-time favourite venues, perched right on the Menai Strait. Their ceremony was small, quiet and full of meaning, beautifully led by Sarah. I’ve shot big weddings, wild weddings, and everything in between, but there's something about these slower-paced, deeply personal elopements that capture so much emotion & are some of my fav weddings to shoot.

Being able to witness it all, camera in hand, is something I’ll never take for granted!

An amazing bridal fashion shoot

I recently had the chance to create some seriously beautiful bridal content at the stunning Château Rhianfa – and it delivered in every single way. The place is nothing short of magic. Dramatic views over the Menai Strait, incredible architecture, and those little pockets of light and texture that photographers dream of… it was the perfect backdrop for a modern take on bridal style.

Model Cara Braia brought all the energy and elegance – absolutely nailed every look and gave the whole shoot a bold, effortless feel. It’s always such a pleasure working with people who bring the vision to life so naturally.

And I couldn’t have asked for a better team around me:

💄 Makeup perfection by Cassie M Bridal – flawless as ever !

📲 Behind the scenes & socials magic by Abbie at Visualise Marketing Social Media Management – capturing the vibe as it unfolded.

👗 Bridalwear that turned heads from Ann at Cameo Brides Llandudno – every dress was a stunning.

🌸 Stunning florals from Dawn at The Very Nice Flower Company – delicate, modern, and full of character.

These kinds of shoots are honestly one of my favourite things to do. It’s a chance to slow down a little and really craft images in a different way. Working with such creative, passionate wedding professionals always pushes me to try new things – and even after decades behind the camera, I’m still learning, still chasing new light, still growing.

Here’s to more days like this.

Adventure Portraiture in Eryri !

Wilder Horizons, an adventure with Soul

This shoot was something special.

I spent the weekend documenting the latest Wilder Horizons retreat – a women’s-only weekend focused on connection, community, and learning bushcraft skills in the heart of nature. The kind of space that feels rare and needed, where people come together not just to escape the noise, but to remember what it feels like to be grounded again.

Alongside the main photography content, I also filmed with Eva (Eva Exploring), who shared her thoughts on what Wilder Horizons stands for & where it is going - see my instagram reel for that interview!.

The weekend was packed with hands-on workshops and slow, meaningful time outdoors:

🥾 A hike through wild landscapes, soaking in the views and the silence

🔥 Fire lighting and bushcraft skills, from sparks to full flames

🌾 Foraging and learning what the land can offer

🍞 Bread making over open flame (nothing tastes better than something cooked in the wild)

🧊 Wild swims – freezing, invigorating, but incredible!

🪵 Wood crafting and the gentle rhythm of working with your hands

It was peaceful, real, and completely beautiful. Also these are the kind of stories I absolutely love to tell - people rooted in nature, built around connection, and full of soul. As a photographer, shoots like this push me to be present and adapt, to follow the moments - theres something different in it for me as a nature lover, seeing other people visit our natural world. Even after years (decades!) of doing this work, I’m still learning. Still growing. Still completely lit up by it.

Massive thanks to the Wilder Horizons team for letting me be a part of something so grounded and important — and to Eva, for bringing her voice, perspective & experience to the weekend with such ease and honesty. Big thank you too Alice also who’s knowledge & experience was also greatly appreciated !

More of this, always 🌲🌲🌲

In the pipeline

I’m really looking forward to everything JULY! has in store - it’s shaping up to be a packed month full of exciting projects and adventures!

On the outdoors side, I’ve got more amazing hikes and paddleboarding trips planned, with plenty of opportunities to capture the great outdoors at its best. I can’t wait to get out there and bring the camera along for the ride.

On the wedding front, I’ve got some very exciting weddings coming up ! As a lover of weddings & the outdoors I’m all set for a venue between forest & sea this month - with invites from the groom & his party for early morning sea swims to start the day off! Followed by more weddings later in the month at some stunning venues with couples who have put their all into their special days - so I cannot wait to be there capturing your memories !

Wedding fayres over in the beautiful Peak District at Gradbach Mill (for those who don’t know I tend to shoot alot of the North West - mainly North Wales, Eryri, & The Peak District - all nicely within 2 hours of everywhere!)

Check back at the end of the month / early August for the next newsletter - it’s set to be packed with highlights!
