Weddings everywhere this month!

Annwyl / Dear

July was an incredible month, and I’ve loved every moment of it. I had the absolute pleasure of photographing a mix of beautiful weddings - from dramatic cliffside sea view ceremonies at Nant Gwrtheyrn, to elegant, fairytale celebrations at Château Rhianfa, and relaxed countryside weddings at the stunning Nunsmere Hall, a charming country house set on its very own lake island.

Alongside the weddings, there’s been time for wedding club coffee catch-ups, fayres, a few adventures with friends to hidden lakes, and the occasional wild swim when I could grab a quiet moment. I also had the chance to shoot a really fun outdoor influencer paddle board session (you’ll find that over on my outdoors Instagram page if you're curious!).

I’ve also done some corporate head shots this month & a beautiful natural campsite in Eryri.

These newsletters will always be a mix of wedding and outdoor photography - the two genres I love most and feel most connected to. Thanks for being here and following along! 😊

So without further ado - grab a coffee, settle in & enjoy this month's HUGE newsletter! I hope you enjoy it !

A stunning sea side cliff top wedding!

Tucked away on the Llyn Peninsula, overlooking the wild beauty of the sea, Nant Gwrtheyrn has to be one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph - and James and Eleri’s day there was something really special.

There’s something about this place that doesn’t feel like just a venue. Perched on the cliffs with the ocean stretching out below, it feels like a unique world of its own. As someone who’s always loved being out in nature, combining that landscape with the emotion & energy of a wedding day is a dream setup for me as a photographer.

From the moment I arrived, the atmosphere was relaxed and full of warmth. James and Eleri are the kind of couple who make you feel instantly welcome, and the whole day had this beautifully calm, genuine feel to it - full of laughter, happy tears, and the kind of connections that make you stop & appreciate the moment. The day started unusually at 7am in the ocean as per the grooms request - something I was more than happy to take part in!

As the evening drew in, we were treated to one of the most stunning sunsets I’ve seen at Nant Gwrtheyrn. The light dropped gently over the sea, casting golden tones across the cliffs, and we took a short walk for some final portraits in that quiet, glowing light. It was the perfect way to round off an already unforgettable day.

Shooting weddings like this - in places that mean something, with people who are fully present in the moment - is exactly why I do what I do.

A beautifully elegant wedding!

Anyone who even slightly knows me knows my history & wonderful connection to my beloved Anglesey Venue - Chateau Rhianfa  Nicola and Liam’s wedding at the incredible Château was a truly heartfelt day - full of joy, connection, and beautifully considered details from start to finish.

The atmosphere throughout the day was warm and genuine, with a ceremony that felt deeply personal and full of happy emotion. One of the standouts for me was the table setup for their wedding breakfast - an elegant design with a soft green theme that tied everything together perfectly. It had subtle nods to 1920s style, full of character and charm without ever feeling overstated. A real visual treat to photograph.

Nicola and Liam are the kind of couple who are effortlessly joyful to be around - relaxed, completely in sync, and clearly having the time of their lives. I loved wandering the grounds of the château with them after the ceremony, capturing their photos & happy moments in between everything else. It’s always a pleasure to photograph a couple who are so naturally present with each other.

This was one of those weddings that stays with you - a stunning setting, genuine people, and a real celebration of love, done their way.

A wedding venue on its own island ?!

Emma & Tom’s wedding at Nunsmere Hall was the perfect blend of elegance, ease, and genuine connection, set against the stunning backdrop of a country house tucked away on its very own lake island!.

From the moment I arrived, there was a real sense of calm and happiness in the air. The day flowed so naturally, with no stress or fuss, just two people completely enjoying every second with their closest family and friends.

The ceremony was full of laughter and emotion, with them preparing their own vows. The venue itself is a new one for me & a dream to photograph - with its stunning gardens, architecture & lakeside setting.

One of my favourite parts of the day was when we stepped outside for some golden hour portraits. Emma and Tom had a quiet moment together as the sun dipped behind the trees, and they shared a dance in the setting light - just the two of them, no audience, no pressure. A simple moment, but one of those you never forget.

It was a real pleasure to be part of their day and to capture it all as it unfolded.

The Wedding Club Network Coffee Club

I’m proud to be a member of the Wedding Club Network - a brilliant community of wedding professionals based here in the North West.

Every now and then, we come together for relaxed industry meet-ups where we chat all things weddings, share knowledge, and connect with other local suppliers. It’s a great chance to learn more about the people behind the businesses; from florists and dress designers to venues, planners, cake makers and beyond, & to swap ideas, insights, and the occasional story or two from the wedding days we cover.

I always come away feeling inspired, full of fresh ideas, and reminded of how lucky I am to work alongside such passionate, talented people in this industry.

If you’re planning your wedding and want to explore trusted, recommended suppliers from around the North West, it’s a great network to check out!

Paddleboards, Portraits & Peak Scenery

One of the highlights of this month was spending the day shooting a SUP board portrait session with Ashley Azzurro on Llynnau Mymbyr. We had an incredible day working together in the heart of Eryri, surrounded by the epic landscape of Eryri with Yr Wyddfa watching over us in the background

Outdoor portraiture is a real passion of mine - I love capturing people immersed in wild spaces, and blending natural movement with landscape and light. Whether it’s hiking, paddleboarding or simply existing in the elements, it’s about making images that feel connected and real to me - how can I convey the joy of the outdoors how I see it ?

Ashley was such a lovely person to meet, creative, relaxed and full of great energy -we had a brilliant time exploring the lakes, trying new compositions, and just letting the shoot unfold naturally throughout the day. We came away with a stunning set of images that really reflect her adventurous spirit.

If you’re looking to elevate your personal brand, outdoor content or Instagram presence, whether you’re a creator, adventurer or small business - I’m available for bespoke outdoor portrait sessions across North Wales, the UK & beyond.

Let’s make something epic.

August in the Pipeline

August is shaping up to be a slightly steadier month - which, honestly, I’m really grateful for. I’ve got a few lovely engagement shoots booked in, plus some exciting commercial meetings on the calendar... but the main focus? Catching up on a mountain of editing!

Behind every image I share is hours of careful culling, colour work and storytelling - so this quieter spell isn’t quieter for me in terms of working on the business but its a welcome chance to dive deep into the to do list and give each wedding and shoot the time and attention it deserves.

I’ll also be turning a spanner or two, doing some much-needed maintenance on my vans to get them adventure-ready again. I’ve done tens of thousands of miles in them in the past couple of years - and they’ve taken a beating - but thats amazing to me - what use is an adventure van sat on my driveway? September is calling with the promise of new journeys, fresh air, and a off-grid escapes - so it’s time to patch things up, top things up, and get things rolling.

Here’s to a productive, practical August - with just enough wild swims, wanderings & relaxing in my hammock to keep the balance right.

Below is a few snaps of my adventures out of the office from July.

Why Supporting Small Photography Businesses Matters

In a world where convenience often wins and algorithms push the biggest names to the top, it’s more important than ever to support small, independent businesses like mine - especially those who do it full-time, not just as a side project or hobby.

For photographers like me, this work isn’t just a passion (although it definitely is that too!) - it’s a livelihood. Every booking, recommendation, kind word, or referral makes a real difference. It allows us to invest in what we do - better equipment, spend more time crafting images with care, and continue offering a genuinely personal experience for every couple, family, brand or business we work with.

There’s a world of difference between someone doing photography professionally and someone fitting it around their spare time. Full-time photographers are all in. We spend our days not just capturing beautiful moments, but editing them, running a business behind the scenes, constantly working on social media to get our message across, meeting with clients, scouting locations, managing bookings, and constantly evolving our craft.

When you book a full-time independent photographer, you’re not just paying for a few hours of pictures, you're investing in someone who’s honed their skills over years, understands how to handle pressure and light and weather and people, and who genuinely cares about creating something meaningful for you.

So whether you’re planning a wedding, launching a brand, or simply wanting to capture a beautiful moment in time - consider choosing a small, full-time photography business. It’s one of the best ways you can support local creativity, real people, and a much more personal experience.

Thank you, as always, for following my work and being part of this journey - it means more than you know.
